The coverage of the articles may thus lack consistency, but I will try my best to make it worth a read in all cases. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The title of this blog is a reference to the history of economics, which was nicknamed &#8220;the dismal science&#8221; in the 19<sup>th<\/sup> century by proponents of slavery<sup class=\"modern-footnotes-footnote modern-footnotes-footnote--hover-on-desktop \" data-mfn=\"1\" data-mfn-post-scope=\"000000000000082d0000000000000000_162\"><a href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  role=\"button\" aria-pressed=\"false\" aria-describedby=\"mfn-content-000000000000082d0000000000000000_162-1\">1<\/a><\/sup><span id=\"mfn-content-000000000000082d0000000000000000_162-1\" role=\"tooltip\" class=\"modern-footnotes-footnote__note\" tabindex=\"0\" data-mfn=\"1\">Carlyle, Thomas (1849). &#8220;Occasional Discourse on the Negro Question&#8221;, Fraser&#8217;s Magazine for Town and Country, Vol. XL<\/span> because of the insistence of the discipline to condemn this institution (I guess it makes all of us hardline supporters of gloom, welcome onboard!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I try to review the information carefully before publishing it, but errors and differences of interpretation may subsist.
